The Department of Prisons maintains this website ("Sri Lanka Prison Pre-book Visiting Portal") to provide a pre-book visit facility and an interactive online video visit with the detainees detained at the Sri Lanka prison institutions. This service is free of charge. Your access to the Portal and use of the Service is subject to these Terms of Use. These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and the Department of Prisons Sri Lanka about the use of the Services through this Portal. Throughout these Terms of Use, "you or the visitor" means the person who clicks "I have read and agreed to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy" at using the service. However, if you are clicking "I have read and agreed to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy" on behalf of a minor as his or her legally authorized representative, then "you or the visitor" means the authorized representative and the person represented, but in that case, the Service may only be used for the benefit of the minor represented.

This terms of use is a legally binding document. Please read it carefully. By clicking “I have read and agreed to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy” using the service, You (a) Acknowledge that you have read and understood these terms of use; and (b) agree to be bound by these terms of use. If you do not agree to be bound by these terms of use, then you are not permitted to use the service and should promptly exit this portal.

We may revise and update these Terms of Use from time to time at our sole discretion. All changes are effective immediately when we post them. Your continued use of the Service following the posting of revised Terms means that you accept and agree to the changes.

You agree to be financially responsible for your use of the Service and to comply with your responsibilities and obligations as stated in these Terms of Use.

In connection with your use of the Service, please review the Your Privacy Rights statement (“Privacy Policy Statement”) to understand how we use the information we collect from you when you access, visit or use the Service. The Privacy Statement is part of and is governed by these Terms of Use and by accepting the Terms of Use, you agree to be bound by the terms of the Privacy Statement, and agree that we may use information collected from you in accordance with the Privacy Statement.

As a condition of using certain features of the Service, you are required to insert personal information into the Site. You may not: (a) select or use the information of another person with the intent to impersonate that person; (b) use the passwords, registration numbers or token numbers of any person other than you without appropriate authorization; or (c) use information that is otherwise offensive, vulgar or obscene. We reserve the right to refuse registration of or to cancel visit requests, at our sole discretion. You shall be responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your user passwords, token numbers and registration numbers.

You may not use this Portal or its content for any purpose prohibited or restricted by law or in violation of these Terms of Use. You may not access or use the Service for any purpose other than the purpose for which we make it available to you. We may prohibit certain activities in connection with the Service at our discretion. These prohibited activities include, without limitation, the following:

• Criminal or offensive activity, including, fraud, trafficking in contrabands, harassment, stalking or spamming.
• Transmitting chain letters or junk emails to us.
• Interfering with, disrupting or creating an undue burden on the Service or the networks or services connected to the Service.
• Attempting to impersonate another user or person, using the sequential numbers, password or token numbers of another user.
• Using any information obtained from the Service to harass, abuse or harm the provided service or another person.
• Using the Service in a manner inconsistent with any applicable laws and regulations.
• Decompiling, disassembling, modifying, translating, adapting, reverse engineering, or creating derivatives based on, the Service, or any portion thereof.
• Calls made through this service should not contain threatening conversations, accusations or any undisciplined or illegal actions or discussions. Doing so by you or the detainee will result in the revocation and termination of the privileges granted through this service to the relevant parties.
• Recording the conversations, capturing photos and screenshots of any conversations or calls made through this service by any means and presenting the obtained videos, audios or photos to the media, and posting and sharing on social media networks and other media platforms are prohibited. Doing so by you or the detainee will result in the revocation and termination of the privileges granted through this service to the relevant parties.

Your request for a Video Visit must be for you or on behalf of a minor as his or her legally authorized representative.

Video Visits are a substitute for regular in-person visits in which the visitor is visiting the detainee by attending the particular prison institution.

You acknowledge that we reserve the right to (a) take appropriate legal action against anyone who, in our sole determination, violates these Terms of Use, including, without limitation, reporting you to law enforcement authorities, (b) in our sole discretion and without limitation, refuse, restrict access to or availability of, or disable all or a portion of the Service, and (c) otherwise manage the Service in a manner designed to protect the rights and property of the institutions and users of the Service and to facilitate the proper functioning of the Service.

The Service and its contents and the service marks and logos contained on the Service are the intellectual property of the Department of Prisons Sri Lanka and the government of Sri Lanka under the constituted copyrights and other intellectual property rights. The Service and its contents are provided for your informational, non-commercial use only and may not be used, copied, reproduced, distributed, transmitted, broadcast, displayed, sold, licensed, or otherwise exploited for any other purpose whatsoever. You agree not to engage in the use, copying or distribution of the Service or any of its contents for any commercial purposes or personal gains. You agree not to circumvent, disable or otherwise interfere with security-related features of the Service. We may periodically provide updates to the Service to resolve bugs or add features and functionality. You do not acquire any ownership rights to the Service or any contents contained in the Service. All rights not expressly granted in these Terms of Use are reserved by the Department of Prisons Sri Lanka. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users of the Service.

We may suspend or terminate your use of the Service if you violate these Terms of Use or at our discretion. We may also impose limits on or restrict your access to parts or all of the Service without notice or liability.
